I think I have discovered that there are at least 3 styles, and maybe more to accommodate the wider European rear License plate features as more tooling was introduced. The earliest were completely hand fabricated and were further outboard to accommodate the wider European license plate, then they widened them for the US rear panel when tooling was built to form the outer round that curved more to wrap more around the fender corners, then the more common 71 square inners with a more flattened fender outer curve that mounted slightly more inboard.
