Gray Gregory RIP….

All, I was contacted today by Kirby Schrader who notified me that beloved Houston Pantera and vintage race stalwart Gray Gregory passed away peacefully just before midnight, after a valiant 18-month battle with ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Just one year ago this weekend we were together at Road America, where he transferred ownership of his Chevron F2 car to John Taphorn and cheered him on as he raced it for the first time. Ever-giving, here is a pic of Gray analyzing the data from John’s first-ever laps and offering advice…. I loved him like a brother. We had so many wonderful adventures together, including multiple classic car rallies in Europe in my GT-350 some 20 years ago. I will miss him so much…. So sorry to learn of Gray's passing. So incredibly sad! He was a great man and loved by all. RIP dear Gray. Steve Lisa finished first place in Vintage AP with a best lap time of 2:38.209. His Pantera (05533) built to mimic Group 3 period specs was tweaked several times in practice sessions over two days. Steve’s strategy to get best times in qualifying worked out well. I had to leave prior to the last race but Steve updated me by text just a while ago. Installing the inside rearview mirror

I have the front bow of the headliner installed, along with the sun visors and mounting plate for the rearview mirror, but I cannot figure out how to pop the mirror itself into the mounting plate. Doug Braun has offered that you need to whack it into place by hitting a piece of wood held against the mirror base with a hammer, but this makes me a little nervous so close the windshield. Is this the only way or can someone offer another suggestion? Dear Tim, Thanks for the personal attention on this somewhat esoteric, put important, engine part. I am acquainted with restrictor push rods, but with all my engines equipped with lifter bore bushings, I haven’t found the need. Currently, the engine build is stalled awaiting a shipment of the now scarce 351C ten under rod bearings. Sigh. To reply to Chucks comments, Jon Kaases & I texted back and forth on the seal. Jon shared his contact to the company who manufactured the Kaase BBF seal, it is a company in the UK. We have sold almost 200 seals in the past 4-5 months. Feedback I have heard is the lip on the seal seems to be more "stout" compared to other seals. Our website Chuck shared details more details, and there is a video a customer shared who installed the seal, in an engine, in the car, that was up on a car hoist. he did a very good job of documented how this can also be done. I'll be glad to answer any other questions, I was a member of the website once. I'll have to look if I can get logged in again. Dear Tim, Thanks for the personal attention on this somewhat esoteric, put important, engine part. I am acquainted with restrictor push rods, but with all my engines equipped with lifter bore bushings, I haven’t found the need. Currently, the engine build is stalled awaiting a shipment of the now scarce 351C ten under rod bearings. Sigh. We have sold almost 200 seals in the past 4-5 months. Feedback I have heard is the lip on the seal seems to be more "stout" compared to other seals. Our website Chuck shared details more details, and there is a video a customer shared who installed the seal, in an engine, in the car, that was up on a car hoist. he did a very good job of documented how this can also be done. Dear Asa, Well, due diligence has produced the Pantera All Stars ( Julian, Scott, Asa, Ed) and the special guest star Tim Meyer. I am convinced and I have placed an order for the TMeyer one-piece 351C rear main seal. I am very optimistic and the engine team is keen to get started-----as soon as the latest supply chain snafus are resolved. Sigh. Thanks to all for the help and comments.
