I have the front bow of the headliner installed, along with the sun visors and mounting plate for the rearview mirror, but I cannot figure out how to pop the mirror itself into the mounting plate. Doug Braun has offered that you need to whack it into place by hitting a piece of wood held against the mirror base with a hammer, but this makes me a little nervous so close the windshield.
Is this the only way or can someone offer another suggestion?
